  1. Exciting! As you know, The Red Tent is one of my favorite books, but I also LOVE The Handmaid’s Tale. And, my mom (whom I consider the be-all of book expertise) loved The Ocean at the End of the Lane.

  2. The Red Tent, The House of the Spirits and Angela’s Ashes all made a big impression on me when I read them. Very different from one another, but all thought-provoking. I just picked up Anita Diamant’s new book (The Boston Girl) which I’m saving in hopes it’ll be as good as The Red Tent!

    1. I’ve heard nothing but great things about The Red Tent, so it’s high time I pick it up! I was lucky enough to find a gently used copy at a garage sale for like 25 cents – Fools. I’m glad to know I have some good reading ahead of me this year! Re: The Boston Girl, I actually received an e-arc of that, and remember enjoying it as I was reading it, but it didn’t necessary leave a lasting impression. It was before I had the blog, but if you care, my Goodreads review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1120539486?book_show_action=false.

I see on GR you’re reading Swamplandia!, which I ALMOST picked up from the used bookstore yesterday, but then shelved it back… interested to hear how you like it, so come stalk me on twitter when you do!
